Objectıves of the Project:

The main objectives of this project are to inform young people about current challenges such as climate change, to promote the wider EU agenda and focus on sustainability, and to upskill young people and municipal employees who will participate in employment.
The financing and implementation of this project will raise awareness about climate change. The project outputs will produce a range of innovative capacity building activities for both new entrants and current entrants into the workforce, strengthening their skills by providing them with the context and basis to understand how to provide better services.
Funding from this project will enable the development of a training program focusing on how an environmentally and fiscally conscious tourism can respond to the demands of the service industry in general and empower a new generation of trainers, policy makers and workers, especially those belonging to vulnerable social groups who face additional limitations in finding and maintaining employment.

Project WORK PACKAGES

Work Package 1: Project Management

Work Package 1: Project Management

In this work package, consortium members will perform key management tasks such as project budget, time management, anticipating and managing risks and crises, monitoring and evaluating the quality of outputs and activities.

In order to create activities and outputs that are inclusive and aligned with the green and digital transformation, the project partners will identify core values in the management package and ensure that they are implemented throughout the project.

Work Package 2:State-of-the-art analysis and development of policy recommendations and case studies

WORK PACKAGE 2: State-of-the-art analysıs and development of polıcy recommendatıons and case studıes

A survey will be launched in Greece, North Macedonia, Italy and Turkey to gather information on sustainable tourism practices and the current situation. Through SWOT analysis, needs and gaps will be identified and new steps will be taken to improve existing practices. Based on the opinions of experts and local authorities, case studies will be conducted in priority areas such as urban living, citizen participation and strengthening local economies. Furthermore, this analysis will include how professions can be developed with green skills and appropriate policy recommendations for orienting young graduates to these fields.

Work Package 3: Development of capacity building program and training modules

WORK PACKAGE 3: DEVELOPMENT OF CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM AND TRAINING MODULES

  • A training program linked to environmental protection and tourism will be developed.
    Participants will be provided with resources that provide information on sustainability and environmental protection, and explain their relevance to tourism.
  • A training program on capacity building for green skills and change management in the workplace will be developed.
  • Two online training programs will be developed for municipal staff and other professionals. These programs also aim to provide young adults with opportunities for training and participation in the workforce.
Work Package 4: Pilot Testing and Awareness Raising Campaign

WORK PACKAGE 4: PILOT TESTING AND AWARENESS RAISING CAMPAIGN

Two co-creation events will be organized with volunteer participants (including young people and recent graduates) to increase the impact and reach of the training modules. These events will show how green skills can revolutionize professions in tourism.

The co-creation pilot workshops will take place in each partner’s country (NGOs and Municipalities will work together) and will be organized two each (paired with the training modules).

Work Package 5: Dissemination and Sustainability

WORK PACKAGE 5: DISSEMINATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

  • Informing the public and stakeholders in order to promote the project and ensure maximum visibility, especially involving young people and local businesses interested in getting involved in the tourism sector.

  • Create a network of stakeholders and beneficiaries promoting green skills and sustainable tourism, develop collaborations with projects working on sustainability from different perspectives.

  • Measure the effectiveness of visibility events, social media campaigns.
